What is mp3PRO?

mp3PRO files are like regular MP3 files in that they have the same .mp3 extention, and can be played in regular MP3 players, but if they are played in an mp3PRO-enabled player, one can hear audio with approximately twice the quality. For example, an mp3PRO file that is 32kbps with stereo sound will play back with 16khz of fidelity in a standard MP3 player, but 32khz in an mp3PRO player.

Q: Do I have to have an mp3PRO player?
A: No, PIRN will work just fine without one. However the sound quality will be only as good as AM radio. If you upgrade, however, the audio will sound like FM radio (if not a little better).
