Pokétalk for Sunday, September 5th, 1999 This is Steven Reich, with Pokétalk for Sunday, September 5th, 1999! Well, you can handle one, you can handle two, you can even handle the occasional three, but nothing can prepare you for seven! That's the number of Pokémon episodes Kids WB will be showing next weekend. The breakdown is this: five episodes of top Pokémon, one new episode, one bonus episode, and a pidgey in a pear treeŠ well, everything except the last part. Anyway, I'll have to break out the ice water (since I only drink cream and sugar with coffee in it) to catch em' all. Also, this weekend marks the season premiere of Pokémon, featuring the episode Princess VS Princess. Not bad, but here's the real kicker: one of the buildings near the beginning features the three letter acronym all women hate. This week also featured the new Pikachu's jukebox, and boy does he look cute in that little suit of his! Then again, what does he not look cute doing? This segment is basically the same as those Pokémon music video sneak peaks. I'm everyone has noticed how good those Aussies have it, what with their Pokémon N64 and all. Of course, I'd hate to be in the same room with one who'd just seen the Pokémon Snap commercial. Am I jealous? A little. Then again, they don't get the Pokémon movie until next year. Whew, and now the commercial! AD: The Pokéclub Announcer: Have you had it with Really Oddly Clothed Kooky Evil Trainers stealing your Pokémon? Then you need the Pokéclub, guaranteed to prevent Pokémon theft or your money back! Here's a glowing testimonial, "Ever since I installed the Pokéclub, no one has even tried to steal that Pokéball. Then again, my Pikachu doesn't like to go in there, which is not helped by the fact that that I would have to take it off every time I want to let him in or out." That's from, um, Ash Ketchup, I mean Ketchum. Is that the best testimonial we could find? Geez. Anyway, the Pokéclub is only $13.99 each. So uh, buy one today! Whatever. Well, no one even bothered to enter last week's contest. The answer by the way, was 77. Oh well. This week, Nintendo announced their future portable gaming system, Game Boy Advance. It will be 32-bit, backwards compatible, and will be able to display 511 colors (out of 65535, this correction comes from Nintendo.com's Ask Dan) at once. It will also be horizontal, not vertical, and link up with Dolphin. It is slated for an August 2000 release in Japan, and a holiday 2000 release in North America. If you want my speculation, release titles will include Pokémon 3, or whatever they're gonna call it, and Wario Land III. Finally, since I can't think of anything else to talk about, I'll discuss the results of the site poll, which is in the cartoon section. To the question, "Which Pokémon character would you most like to whack on the head, the most popular answer was Meowth. For the record I voted for Ash. That brings this Pokétalk to an end, but don't leave just yet, you're gonna wanna see the credits, right?
