My Pokémon Experience

Long long ago...

My experience begins long before Pokémon, at a Star Trek convention (George Takei, if you must know), and I noticed something that appeared to be a cartoon, but had a big fat X on it. I didn't know what it was.

Flash Forward

Go forward to September 30th, 1998. I buy Pokémon Red. What a great game. Too bad the TV station that's supposed to be carrying Pokémon won't go on for another 10 months. At this point, I'm still convinced it will never catch on. After all, it's an RPG.

And a Pidgey in a Pear Tree...

For Christmas, I get my first taste of Pokémon, in the form of a tape. I watched it five zillion times, then all but stopped.

Dubba Dubba Pokémon

Pokémon premieres on Kids' WB, and I see it. My opinion grows...a little.

Everything Changes...

I buy that CD, 2.B.A. Master, and well, everything changes, changes (sorry). Basically, it turns me in a Poké-crazy man bent on becoming rich and famous (then again, who isn't?)
